Euro a gogo

With the Euro at its' highest rate in the last 18 months, we are expecting demand for traditional European holiday destinations to strengthen over the next couple of months. Meaning us Brits can final get a bit more value for money for our £. Check out Greece, Canaries and Balerics for some great deals at the moment, visit http://www.travelpatrol.co.uk/ or call 02380 828328.

Late Deals Galore

There are some fantastic late deals available at the moment on flights, flights and hotels and packages. As a result of the World Cup and weakening demand in the leisure travel market, customers are in a prime position if they can travel withing the next months. It is possible to take a family of four away to Turkey, stay in a 4* AI Accommodation with transfers and have enough change out of £1000 to pay for your spending money. If you can get time of work, and can pack and be on your way quickly you could be in a position to capitalise.
Operators are left with seats and empty hotel rooms, they will sell them at any price in the lates market - if you can move fast we can guarentee you a good deal, either visit http://www.travelpatrol.co.uk/ or call 02380 828328.

Please Don't Shoot the Messenger.........

As with all travel agents, at this time of year we are receiving a large number of flight time changes and cancellations. This is especially true for departures during May and June. The reason why we are seeing a high level of changes for May and June departures is simply that the tour operators have not sold enough seats on the flight to be able to operate it without incurring a massive loss. Unfortunatley for customers all tour operators reserve the right to cancel, change airports or change times of a flight. Whilst we understand this can cause massive problems and disruption it is essential that customers understand that they have agreed to this at the point that they make the booking. We know it isn't fair, we know it isn't nice, but effectively as the agents our hands are tied.
Usually if the flight time change or the airport change is minor, i.e. classified by the tour operators as under 12 hours on flight times, or in regard to airports changing from example Larnaca to Paphos - the customer has no right to cancel free of charge or get any compensation.  Whilst we understand this isn't 'minor' to most customers - again please understand this is a tour operator classification.
Where the flight is cancelled or the change is major we will always do our best to offer the client the best available alternatives - unfortunately when a flight is cancelled by one tour operator there is a mad rush to book seats with other tour operators - and guess what they do ? Of course they put their prices up!!
If your flight is cancelled or there is a major change, you would normally be entitled to a full refund - however if you already have your holidays booked or accommodation sorted this is not much help to you.
Please believe us when we say, if it were up to us the Travel Agent no flight time would change and no flights would ever be cancelled. We unfortunately are the messengers who get to give customers the bad news - so please don't shoot us !! We will do our best to help, but please also understand that we are quite often limited to what we can do, due to tour operator booking conditions.

Summer 2010 holding out for a cheaper price??

Flights availability update

Over the last couple of years there has been good reason for people to gamble on the flights lates market, due to over supply of capacity in Summer 2008 and Summer 2009, if you booked early you may be sitting next to someone on the plane who paid £50 less. Will Summer 2010 be different?? In our opinion the answer is yes. There are massively fewer flights in the market than in previous years, with Scotland being worst affected with the collapse of FlyGlobespan. Many of the smaller tour operators have reduced their capacity and the big two Thomsons and Thomas Cook have likewise reduced the number of flights they have available - the simple reason why is that they weren't making any money selling these flights!!
The ethos for all Tour Operators for the 2010 season seems to be low risk, we have not spoken to one who is expecting a massive rush this year, their strategy for the most part seems to be, that they will only offer the flights they know they can fill. What does this mean for the customer? First they will be paying, possible for the first time in three years what the flight costs and second that if they don't book in advance they will either pay a high premium or not be going at all. This is especially the case for peak school holiday dates where prices on popular routes have increased by more than 30-40% since the beginning of January.
The cavaets to this is that all operators operate a fluid pricing strategy - this basically means that if a flight is selling they put the price up and if it isn't they put the price down. When we are asked by a client will the price go up or down, we liken this question to how long is a piece of string? - nobody really knows all we can do is listen to what we are being told look at the trends and advise. Our advice for this Summer expecially if you want to go when the kids are away book early. Also be aware that if you live in the North of Engalnd, lots of people from Scotland will have to travel to airports such as Manchester and Newcastle will be forced to travel from these airports due to lack of supply from Scotland.
So would we hold out for a cheaper price, the answer is probably not, especially if I was looking to go to Turkey, Greece, Canaries or Cyprus. Only time will tell if we are right.
Give us your opinion, are you waiting or are you booking early to make sure you get your flights.

Turkey, Turkey, Turkey !!!!

Dalaman is the new Tenerife, the number of enquiries to Dalaman has more than doubled in the last 12 months. Once upon a time flight only enquiries were dominated by Tenerife and the other Canary Islands - it seems today everyone wants to go to Turkey. Since 1st January this year 23% of all flight only bookings we have taken have been for flights to Dalaman. It seems that customers want a cheap deal outside the Euro Zone, and Turkey is offering real value for money for people who want their Pound to go further. If you are looking for the best deals on flights to Turkey we recommend looking for flights leaving at the start of the summer season (early May), the lowest priced flight to Turkey we have seen however is a 6 night duration going from London at £110 at the moment. The prices for peak dates such as school summer holidays are going up fast, we have seen some dates go up from £220 to £320-50 in a matter of days due to sheer volume of demand. Our advice is that if you want to go to Turkey book now as the seats will not be there in the lates market.
Let us know what you think of Turkey, if you have been to the Canaries previously why are you going to Turkey this year?? Are you a Turkey lover or Turkey hater?? - Book flights to Dalaman
