As with all travel agents, at this time of year we are receiving a large number of flight time changes and cancellations. This is especially true for departures during May and June. The reason why we are seeing a high level of changes for May and June departures is simply that the tour operators have not sold enough seats on the flight to be able to operate it without incurring a massive loss. Unfortunatley for customers all tour operators reserve the right to cancel, change airports or change times of a flight. Whilst we understand this can cause massive problems and disruption it is essential that customers understand that they have agreed to this at the point that they make the booking. We know it isn't fair, we know it isn't nice, but effectively as the agents our hands are tied.
Usually if the flight time change or the airport change is minor, i.e. classified by the tour operators as under 12 hours on flight times, or in regard to airports changing from example Larnaca to Paphos - the customer has no right to cancel free of charge or get any compensation. Whilst we understand this isn't 'minor' to most customers - again please understand this is a tour operator classification.
Where the flight is cancelled or the change is major we will always do our best to offer the client the best available alternatives - unfortunately when a flight is cancelled by one tour operator there is a mad rush to book seats with other tour operators - and guess what they do ? Of course they put their prices up!!
If your flight is cancelled or there is a major change, you would normally be entitled to a full refund - however if you already have your holidays booked or accommodation sorted this is not much help to you.
Please believe us when we say, if it were up to us the Travel Agent no flight time would change and no flights would ever be cancelled. We unfortunately are the messengers who get to give customers the bad news - so please don't shoot us !! We will do our best to help, but please also understand that we are quite often limited to what we can do, due to tour operator booking conditions.
